Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a car that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.
- Ellen Goodman
To not be normal takes courage, because there is no set formula of how to live your life. It takes strength, because it involves breaking free from your own hegemonic beliefs. It takes love, because only if you love yourself will the right path become clear to you. It takes determination, as the temptation to turn back will always be there. But above all it takes work, because you'll have to fight against a current that'll keep pulling you back and to stop it you have to build an anchor, then an engine and eventually you'll be free.
